NMOS IS-04
As our industry moves away from hard wired systems towards flexible IP based architectures, international standardization entities (like SMPTE or AES) have worked on specifications to stream live content on IP packets (ST2110). But they have not really worked about interconnection and interoperability: How for instance to know what is in a system or how to simply connect a camera to a monitor in this environment ? Facing this context, AMWA has created an open working group named NMOS to work on these subjects. The first published specification (IS-04) enables applications to discover networked resources, which is an important first step towards automation and scalability. Tektronix being one of the active members of this group, IS-04 is already implemented in the Prism to facilitate the network connectivity.
